Christian Horner: I will never employ Lewis Hamilton to partner my baby Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull Racing
As Sebastian Vettel dominated both the first and second practice sessions of the Australian Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner has vowed never to employ Lewis Hamilton to race alongside the triple Formula One World Champion.“It is impossible to ignore or to underestimate what Sebastian has achieved,” Horner explained. “Look at the amount of victories, championships and results that he has brought in when the pressure has really been on. If he stopped tomorrow and did nothing else with his career he would still have to be regarded as one of the very best.”

And despite all he has achieved, breaking record after record, the German is only 25-years-old and is well on his way to matching or even beating Michael Schumacher’s record seven Formula One World Championships.
Sebastian Vettel was fastest in both free practice sessions, beating Ferrari’s Felipe Massa in the first session by a small margin. He completed the lap in 1:27.211. The speeds increased as the day went on and fresh rubber made the track more driveable. Hours later, he managed to reduce the time to 1:25.908, completing 49 laps over the two sessions.

A favourite to win, both Saturday and Sunday could prove to be interesting, with a rainy weekend predicted.
The Red Bull RB9, designed by £10m-a-year Adrian Newey, looks like it could be as dominant as its predecessors.
But with Mark Webber’s contract ending this season, Christian Horner does not want Lewis Hamilton to replace him. He said: “Lewis is a fantastically quick driver and he has expressed interest in driving for the team in the past. But it wouldn’t have been right for the team. I have great admiration for the talent he has but I don’t think Lewis and Sebastian would be the right combination.”
