Industry leaders set to gather at Europe's largest motorsports and engineering trade show
THE WORLD'S motoring industry leaders will gather under one roof to show off their latest innovations and products this week.In what had been described as Europe's largest dedicated motorsport trade show, Autosport International will reveal a wide range of future innovations in technology, high performance engines and new sports cars.
Radical says its new 175mph model 'blows apart what was previously thought possible in the supercar marketplace'.Engineering companies from every country imaginable will use the show for networking, launching new products and selling to the trade - and when over ?£800m of business was generated at Autosport International last year, the event could prove critical to forecast where Britain's automotive and motorsports industry is heading in the year ahead.
Taking place at the Birmingham NEC, with over 700 exhibitors last year and 28,500 industry guests, members of the trade can visit the show on Thursday and Friday this week, while over 81,000 members of the public are set to enjoy a spectacular show over the coming weekend.
But with an unstable climate for the automotive industry, and rocketing costs of raw metal for casting parts, a surprisingly large number of businesses are now diversifying into other field of engineering including defence, aerospace, marine and medical.
