Autosport International attracts thousands with cars, stars and new innovations
There were no gloomy signs of a recession with the autootive industry in the UK appearing to be bursting full of life - at least according to the hundreds of optimistic companies who gathered at the Birmingham NEC.
SIN-SATIONAL: The Sin 01 was on display for the first time.From new innovations in gearboxes and transmissions to recently revealed British supercars and Formula One cars from last season and days gone by, the show was full of life and colour.
Motortrades Insight estimates around £850m of trade business may have been completed over last Thursday and Friday.
The show saw the launch of the highly anticipated £85,000 Radical RXC - a 175mph racing car built for the road. Tomorrow, Insight will publish an interview with Vincent Rassat, the designer who led the team of three in making this 'dream car'. He told Motortrades Insight that at least ten cars had been ordered before the show even opened to the public over the weekend.

There were rally cars, karts, stars, pit babes and new innovations in this glamorous event.
COYS auctioneer Christopher Routledge told Motortrades Insight that Freddie Mercury's car would sell for at least £25,000. When the hammer touched the wood, the lucky buyer paid £73,000 for a car the auctioneer said was 'worth only £5,000 without the Mercury history'. And in the same auction, Del Boy's Capri failed to even sell.
