Tottenham Hotspur's Roberto Soldado set to buy Aston Martin Volante to celebrate £26.4m move as Spurs aim to win Premier League
Roberto Soldado has been signed to move to North London and join Tottenham Hotspur next season for a bargain £26.4m, but he'll be aiming to win more than simply titles and screamer goals.
Having scored 24 goals in 35 games for Valencia in La Liga last season, the 28-year-old centre forward is full of talent and helped his team win the title in 2007-08. In total, he scored 33 goals in all competitions last season.
His supreme skill and energy could help Tottenham as they bid to win the Premier League title this season – and launch themselves back into the Champions League.
The Champions League is not unknown territory for the Valencia-born Spurs striker, having scored 17 goals in 27 European games for Valencia in the last three seasons. On average, he has scored a goal every 102 minutes he’s played in the Champions League.
With the help of Paulinho, Chadli, Dembele, Holtby and Sigurdsson, Roberto Soldado could rocket himself to be the top striker in the Premier League next season.
But here in England, strikers are paid far more lucratively than their Spain-based counterparts. So with a four year contract and an increase in his weekly wages, rumours have emerged that Roberto Soldado could be set to buy a British car to celebrate his move to North London.
While many have said that car could be a Rolls Royce or a Bentley, like many footballers, it is more likely the kind-hearted player will opt for a sexier and more stylish option: The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante - a £200,000 sports car with exquisite styling and a top speed of 183mph.
Below are some photos of this gorgeous car that is becoming a hit with footballers from across Europe.
